Burger King trolls political leaders with savage bus advert

Burger King have been praised online for their latest piece of marketing.   The fast food chain have placed a rather savage advert for their Whopper burger on the side of a bright red London bus   It reads: “Another Whopper on the side of a bus. Must be an election.”   The ad pokes fun at Vote Leave’s famous Brexit battle bus from 2016 which proclaimed that Britain was paying the EU £350 million each week  Brexiteers said they would use the money to fund the NHS if they won the referendum  The claim has since been heavily criticised, being branded a “clear misuse” of official figures by Sir David Nosgrove, the UK Statistics Authority chairman   There was even an attempt made to press criminal charges against Boris Johnson over the claim on the bus  However this was later dropped after the Prime Minister won a High Court challenge   Now, in the run up to the general election on December 12, Burger King couldn’t resist wading into the drama with this political stunt  Speaking about the advert, a spokesperson for Burger King said: “As the Home of the Whopper®, we felt that if anyone has the right to stick whoppers on the side of a bus, it’s us  “So naturally, we’ve taken the opportunity to shine a light on our iconic Whopper® in all its flame-grilled glory ”   Burger King garnered hundreds of likes and retweets when they took to Twitter to share a photo of their bus parked outside the Houses of Parliament  They captioned the post: “Parking was a nightmare this morning.”  People online were very impressed, with one person commenting: “Pay rise immediately for whoever came up with this ”  Someone else wrote: “This is spectacular advertising.”  A third said: “Taking the p*** out of Brexit and the shambles of that bus Well played Burger King, well played.”  A fourth added: “Bravo Burger King, that’s made my day ”
