Chairs & Specializations for MSc in Management students – My ESSEC experience

I’m participating in the LVMH Chair
at ESSEC and it’s one of the best opportunities
for students who would like to pursue a career in the luxury industry. LVMH
group has partnered with ESSEC since 1991 to allow students
from ESSEC to learn more about the industry to speak with executives from the
LVMH Group and to launch their career by internship or apprenticeship
within the LVMH Group. For me, it would be really great to integrate
the LVMH chair because basically it’s a program where you get
a lot of courses that are really focused on the industry. They also have
seminars, people coming from the industry to tell you about their experience
you have cases and basically it would definitely be a good
focus or specialization that can boost my CV later on if I wanted
to integrate that industry ESSEC was one of my favorite choices because of the
flexibility and variability of the courses it has to offer I wanted to strengthen my knowledge in
finance and real estate so I was able to do the finance track and the real
estate chair and this definitely helped me to find an
internship at BNP Paribas Real Estate in the real estate investment department and also
an internship at risk capital in New York where I am going to do a program of one
year in finance. I joined the real estate Chair. It gives you another idea of more specific real estate
management, their specificities and real estate is a really
complex market correlated with their financial
markets for example so you need to understand how to interpret
all this information. I’m part of the ESSEC KPMG financial reporting Chair. it’s a chair which is being done
in collaboration with KMPG plus the accounting department.
In the KPMG chair, I have three compulsory courses
to finish We will also be on field trip in Brussels or
in London, where you can visit the European Parliament’s and where you will
present your projects. And then the professors
or the practitioners will comment on what you have done. The finance track is composed of three different
parts. First the general finance track then the corporate finance and also the
market finance. So at a point in time you can choose through either two of
these tracks. I am doing the general finance track as well as the market
finance track. What that basically means is that I
follow a certain requisite number of courses in general finance and I augment that by following specialized courses in market finance.
We have a very good courses in the track like mergers and acquisitions, business analysis and value creation
and corporate financial management. All these courses are very relevant as far as learning
is concerned are also when you go to the outside market. So these tracks are very good,
and the professors who are teaching it till now my experience been really good.
