How to Get More Twitter Traffic (Fast) – Viral Marketing Techniques

Twitter is one of the hundred most popular
sites on the web according to Alexa.com, so why aren’t you getting more traffic from Twitter? Hey, everyone, I’m Neil Patel and today, I’m
going to teach you how to get more Twitter traffic fast. There’s two ways that you can get more Twitter
traffic fast. Let’s go over the first way in case you’re
lucky and you have a lot of followers like me. I have over 200,000. What you can do is if you’re like me, tweet
10 times a day. I kid you not. Going from tweeting once a day to 10 times
a day like sharing more than 10 articles from your website each and every single day for
a whole month and you want to continually do that for a whole year. Even if it’s old content from a year ago,
you can keep sharing the same ones over and over again. Just go through all your old blog posts and
put them in order. You can queue them up from Buffer and that
way, you don’t have to go into Twitter each and every single day and share. When I was sharing one link from Neilpatel.com
on Twitter each and every single day, I receive roughly 1,100 visitors from Twitter in the
whole month. When I started tweeting out 10 articles a
day on Twitter, I received over 4,700 visitors. That’s a huge increase. I went from 1,100 to 4,700. In essence, if you want more traffic from
Twitter, continually tweet out. It’s that simple. Now, if you don’t have followers, here’s a
quick trick that you can use. Write a blog post on any topic. Make sure it’s amazing and good. It’s thorough, 2000 plus words, someone can
read it. It’s actionable. They’re learning from it. If you do that, then people are going to be
like, “This post is amazing, I won’t mind sharing it.” But that’s not the trick. What the trick is, is you go to Buzzsumo.com. Type in keywords related to the article that
you just wrote. Buzzsumo will sort out all the similar articles
and they’ll list out who wrote that and how many social shares it received and you can
see every single person who tweeted out that article. Let’s say I’m writing an article on Google
Analytics and how it’s amazing. I may go to Buzzsumo, type in terms related
to online marketing and see who else has written topics related to Google Analytics. There’s an article that you could see from
TechCrunch. It’s on “How Google Analytics Screwed Up Marketing.” That article has thousands of social shares. I then can write a better article talking
about “How Google Analytics Made the Lives of Marketers Better.” I can go into depth on how Google Analytics
is amazing. People should be using it, tactics that they
can get from using it. They can even go into depth on things like,
how to analyze your Google Analytics’ data to optimize your ROI especially on any paid
marketing campaigns. Once you click on View Shares and you see
every person who shared that article, you want to hit them up. Go to their Twitter profile, Google and find
their email, then you want to shoot them an email. “Hey John, I noticed that you shared this
article by Sam from TechCrunch called ‘How Google Analytics Screwed Up Online Marketing’. I actually have a similar article that’s coming
out, but mine discusses how Google Analytics has made the lives of marketers way better
and it even talks about how businesses are getting a huge ROI now because they’re not
wasting money on marketing campaigns that aren’t producing any ROI. I’m covering A, B and C points that they don’t
discuss. Let me know if you want to check it to before
it goes live. Cheers, Neil.” That’s it. Send off that one quick email. What you’ll notice is roughly 20% to 30% of
the people will reply back saying, “Sure, I would love to see your article.” Once they reply, you want to email them back. “Hey John, here’s the article. Cheers, Neil. P.S. If you shared this article, not only will
it make my day, it would make my year.” And that’s it. What you’ll notice is a lot of the people
that you email that to will share your article out. Using those two tactics will get you more
Twitter traffic. Thanks for listening and I look forward to
seeing you tomorrow.

  1. Thanks Neil. I have a decent following but just seems that everybody on Twitter is just re-sharing posts but not reading stuff. I share 5 – 7 posts per day. But I guess I should make those exclusively from my blog as opposed to just curating other people's stuff.

  2. Thanks for the awesome video. But Buzzsumo is paid. I can't actually view the people who have shared it. I need to pay to view the sharers. And to be honest I can't afford such an expensive service. Is there any alternative that I can use? Which is for free?

    Thanks in advance.

  3. Neil, huge fan. You mentioned to email the sharers from Buzzsumo. I just had a question about how you get the email addresses. Is there a way to get them from Twitter? I know LinkedIn has a contacts export. But I didn't think Twitter had such things. Thoughts?

  4. Hi Neil, I have still two questions
1.can you tell me why you ask them if they want to see your article before it's online, instead of just sending them the already posted link?
2.what is more important on Twitter: post own content, hashtags or comment other tweets?
    Thanks a lot in advance!

  5. neil ! no words again …you are really a digital marketing guru ..you are doing a gr8 job ….cheers www.digimarktec.com

  6. Twitter seems unstable. People re-tweet my tweet or like them before they have even read the link that I have shared or read the infographic which I have shared. That is insane totally. It is good that the engagement rate is high. But this just means that there is something seriously wrong with the platform. I am not blaming Twitter though. It is just how the user base is.

  7. Thanks Neil! I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for a lot of the things you share. You have really helped me out a lot and I would definitely buy your products. I am now subscribed and will definitely share your content.

  8. hello neil

    Google Updates (organic)ALL
Another Google update hit websites in the middle of December. It was reported by SEMrush Sensor and the WebmasterWorld experts, and later confirmed by Google's representatives. The analysis performed by Barry Schwarz suggests that the update hit at least two website categories: – Sites with too many landing pages targeting KW permutations – Sites with too many ads or thin content
" due to which ranking continuelly going down i and my friend need video how to get rid of it or what happened next with our sites. please guide us.

  9. Another Great Video
    I'm your big fan sir
My question is if I want to target the just USA or any one country to get the audience for my facebook fan page. What I have to do on free methods. Not Paid

  10. You reply to each and every person over here❣️ the first step reply each and every person get them engaged to your content and channel👍🏻

  11. Hello, if the article you share through email is not published yet how are they going to share it? It would have to go back and forth a bit.

  12. Hi Neil, Great video…thanks for real actionable ideas. I'm your new fan.

Until recently I've only been "playing" on Twitter. Now after getting a little more serious, what I'm noticing pretty consistently is that SO many people have 20K-11K followers, but very little engagement–unless it's politics and religion. Even with serious people with serious content (and thousands of followers), I'm surprised to see they don't get much engagement. So I'm wondering if Twitter is worth the time and effort. Others are telling me that Instagram is the place to focus. Can you offer a little insight? Just FYI…I'm in the Soft Skills/Personal Development arena. Thanks so much. Kev

  13. Hi Neil
    I m Radhika.
As you said, share 10 articles in a day on Twitter. But as per the new rules of Twitter, we cant share similar content. So now what to do to increase audience and engagement on Twitter??
