Hi everyone, Ryan here with Sonos Customer Care and today I want to talk about a new registration process we have in the Sonos app that allows you to link your Sonos products directly to your Sonos account. So why would you want to do this? Well, if you have Spotify and you want to use the Spotify app to control Sonos directly you’ll first need to go through this registration process to make sure that the Sonos app and the Spotify app can communicate securely and reliably. And there will be other features that use this registration process in the future as well. I’ll show you what that process looks like on my iPhone here. I’ve just updated my Sonos system and it’s automatically detected that I have Spotify so it’s asking me if I’d like to set up my Sonos account. This is the process that will link my Sonos products directly to my account. I’ll first need to confirm the email address that I used to register the Sonos system. I recognize that that’s my email, so I’ll type it in here. However, there may be cases where you don’t recognize that email or you don’t have access to it anymore. Maybe your Sonos system was set up by a professional and they used their email address during setup. In any case, it’s not a big deal. If there’s a problem with the email, you can select “I don’t have access to this email” at the bottom. You’ll go through a very similar process with a couple extra steps at the end to link your products to the right account. Now that I’ve confirmed my address, Sonos is going to send me an email and ask me to either change or create a password for my Sonos account. Here’s the email you’ll get. All I need to do here is press “Create new password” and I’ll be taken back to the Sonos app. I’ll enter my desired password and confirm it and the app will update my account. You’ll know the process is finished when you see this big check mark. I’m now able to open the Spotify app and control Sonos directly from there since my products are now linked to my account. When future app integrations are released, I’ll be able to access those as well since I’ve gone through this process today. If you have any questions on this process or need some help you can find a link to our article on the subject in the description. You can also head over to support.sonos.com to get in contact with us here in Sonos Customer Care and we’ll be happy to answer any questions. Thanks.
