Target Marketing Strategy – How To Identify Your Target Market (With Examples)

Targeting the right market is one of the crucial
keys to a long-lasting and successful business. But what exactly is a target market and how
do you identify them? In this video, I’m going to share with you
my target marketing strategies and some examples to help you get results fast. Hi wonderful people of the Internet. I am Yunbin. I help network marketers to get results and
grow their business online. Now, most people, especially network marketers,
think they have a target market but many make a deadly mistake here. Before we jump into what the mistake is, let’s
understand what a target market is. A target market is a group of people that
a business aims its marketing effort to sell products or services to. So, that means most network marketers already
have a target market. But what’s the mistake? That deadly mistake is most network marketers
target everyone. Instead of targeting everyone, you want to
have a focused and defined target market. Why do I suggest that you not target everyone? The answer is simple. Because no one can afford to target everyone. Imagine this scenario, where a promoter stands
in the middle of the street or on the walkways of a shopping mall passing out flyers to everyone
that passes by. Now, do you think everyone entertains the
promoter? No. Most of the time, you’ll reject taking the
flyers and even if you get a flyer, you’ll probably just throw it away to the nearest
bin, right? So, that business or company will probably
have to give out thousands of flyers in order to close a few sales. So, do you think it’s a good idea to get rejected
hundreds of times, or thousands of times in order to get one sale? Well, from my experience not everyone has
the mental fortitude to handle that many rejections. So compared to having a defined target market,
targeting everyone is an extremely exhausting action in terms of energy and resources. When you have the right target market, you
will experience more success because people are already looking for or interested in what
you have to offer. Let’s get into how to identify your target
market. I have four questions here that will guide
you to find your target market. The first question is “what do you do?” What is the one thing that you love to do? Do you love makeup? Do you love to cook? Do you love to teach? Or do you love to work out? Right. What is the one thing right now that you are
skilled at or have the confidence to talk to others about? If you have no skills in whatever your network
marketing company provides, then what is the one thing that’s being sold
in your company that you have a passion for or you’re passionate about learning it? What is the one thing that you want to specialize
in? The second question is “who do you do it for?” Who are the people that you want to serve? Who are the people that you think you could
help? The third question is what did those people
in the second question want? What are the challenges that they are facing? What are the problems they are trying to solve? And what kind of solution are they looking
for? Now, the fourth and final question is “how
do they change as a result?” What are the changes that you want to see
in them? What are the transformations that you hope
they would have? Something that will make them more confident
as a person or when they are facing the problems. After answering these four questions, you
should pretty much be clear on who your target market is. Let me give you a very simplified example. Let’s say for question one, I love to do makeup
or I’m passionate to learn how to apply makeup. Then to question two, I’d like to help women
over 50 to apply their makeup. Move on to question number three. A lot of women over 50 are looking to learn
how to apply makeup that makes them look youthful or younger. And for the next for the final question, I’d
like to see them look 5 to 10 years younger after applying their makeup. Being more energetic and have much and have
more confidence in themselves. So with all these answers combined, my target
market should be women over 50, who loves to make up or wants to learn how to look younger
using makeup. Now that you know who your target market is,
you’ll be able to connect with them on a deeper level and appear to be more professional in
their eyes. Let me give you one scenario. Let’s say I’m approaching someone and I try
to connect with them. Hi, I see that you’re also makeup lover. I actually own a business that sells makeup
products right now. You may want to consider giving our products
a try because our products have blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah effects. See, instead of approaching that way.. Hi, I see that you’re also a makeup lover. I actually have a business right now and I
help women over 50 like you to look younger by applying makeup. Do you want to learn more about it? Now you can compare for yourself which of
these sounds more reliable and professional. Take some time to think about it and share
with me in the comment below who your target market is. If you find these tips to be useful, don’t
