Unique Marketing Campaigns | Using Newsletters For Marketing Your Business

– I’ve got your secret
weapon for sales success on today’s episode of
“The Dave Lorenzo Daily.” (upbeat music) I’m Dave Lorenzo, and this
simple piece of paper, this four-fold piece of paper, is your secret weapon
for sales success. That’s right, every month if
you send out a print newsletter with one, two, three, four, five, six articles in it, you will double your
sales in a year’s time. That’s right, if you send
this out to your clients, to your prospects, and to
your evangelists every month, you will double your
sales in one year’s time. How does that work? I’ll tell you right now. First, you’re not communicating
with your clients, your prospects, and
your evangelists enough. Even if you send out a
weekly email newsletter, that’s only being read
by about 10 to 20% of the people to
whom you send it. This newsletter sent
through the mail will have a
phenomenal read rate. It will have a phenomenal
rate of adoption. And the reason is because
people are receiving less mail these days than ever before. People prioritize things
they receive in the mail. They think it’s important because there’s an expense
associated with it. So this newsletter
may cost you a dollar or $1.50 per copy to send out, but if you receive 10 or 20 or $30 per copy in return, if you get two or three
new clients every month when you send this
out as a result, it’s well worth the money. Now, the questions I get about
this is what do I write about and how quickly
will I see results? What you write about is easy. The lead article, the article on the front
page of the newsletter, is an opinion piece. You write something that
you’re giving your opinion on, something in the news, something that’s going
on in the community, something that’s going
on in your industry, something that’s popular
in culture today. Write an opinion piece here. Inside, write industry
educational information. Industry educational
information. I profile one of
my clients up here. Industry information goes here. I put something fun here, a
little advertisement here, and another educational
article here. Then on the back, a
catchy article here, probably about
something in pop culture or something that’s going
on in your industry. And it goes out once a month
with a catchy little banner, my name and phone
number all over it. That’s what you write. People want to hear from you. It’s entertaining, and they
can hold it in their hand. They can pass it
along to somebody else to show ’em how great you are. Now, how soon will
you see results? It takes generally about
three to six issues in a print newsletter before
people will start to call you and do business with you. But that three to six issue
newsletter time period is you continuing to develop
a relationship with people. If you get a $100,000 deal or a 1/2 a million dollar
deal or a million dollar deal, that pays for newsletters
for the next 10 years for everyone on
your client list. This is a phenomenal way to
stay in touch with people. It’s your competitive advantage because by else is
doing this right now. I encourage you to send
out a print newsletter to your prospects,
to your clients, and to your evangelists
every single month. You’ll be glad you did because
you’ll make more money. This tip will truly help
you do this and sell more. And I’m Dave Lorenzo. Until tomorrow, we’ll
see you right back here on the next episode of
“The Dave Lorenzo Daily.” (energetic music)

  2. Good tip. I'm seeing my emails get ignored. Where do you get your newsletter printed? Do you use a mailing house to send them out? Also, do you hire writers to write it for you?
