UWM at Waukesha student explains how campus involvement created internship opportunities

I’m from Green Bay. I decided to move over here. I really admired the city of Milwaukee, and
all the opportunities that were there. So, I chose UWM at Waukesha. I’ve been able to get a lot of different opportunities
while I’ve been here. My first semester, I started working in the
Solution Center on campus. That turned into finding out more about student
government. The following year, I decided to run for VP. It’s been really good to get involved and
see the progression. Also on campus, I’m a brand ambassador with
Milwaukee Bucks, that’s a lot of fun promotion, a lot of fun fan interaction. It’s been really cool to see the UWM Honors
College, and how that ties in with us as well. They do a lot of different research, so I
actually got the opportunity to present at one of their conferences, and it was really
cool to see how much research you could do. I initially came with the intention to go
more into broadcasting, maybe radio on air, so I’m definitely exploring that option too,
through an internship this summer with Midwest Communications. I’m really excited about this, I’m passionate
about my coursework, I want to be here, and I want to get my bachelor’s, and graduate.
